STATEMENT FROM THE BISHOP WITH LINK TO LETTER FROM THE METROPOLITAN
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Clergy and Laity

These are very unusual times indeed that demand the very best from us, the people of God. We must pray for each other, our world, those who suffer and those who care for the suffering. As well, we must take our place in civil society and do our very best to curb the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve. To this end, you will read below in the letter written by our Metropolitan, The Most Rev. Anne Germond that, services of worship will be placed on hold until Holy Week at which time I will, in consultation with the Bishops of the Province, re-evaluate. You will hear more from me in the days ahead but I wanted to give you as much notice as possible.

Some parishes are broadcasting their priest leading worship participating through the Facebook broadcast on their phones. Now that’s a creative solution. I am sure other ideas will surface over the days ahead.

I commend the letter from the Metropolitan to you: its is wonderfully crafted, prayerful, sensitive to our mandate as people of God and reassuring as well.

The letter can be found here:

I remain yours in Christ
