Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, Honoring Feather Gifts At diocesan synod in October 2019, each parish and community ministry received a ceramic sculptured feather. The feathers were created as a part of an outdoor public art installation at the Canadian Museum of Nature named “Populace” that marked Canada’s 150th anniversary. The symbol of a feather was chosen with the local Algonquin community as a representation of their presence on this land at the time of confederation.
